Melt composition and magma crystallization conditions are the most important information for interpretation of the origin and evolution of magmatic rocks. Reconstruction of the melt composition is relatively easy for fresh glassy volcanic rocks and very hard for plutonic rocks or altered volcanic rocks. There is direct way obtaining this information from magmatic inclusions (melt, vapor and solid inclusions in primary magmatic minerals). Such inclusions could be preserved in highly altered or even decomposed rocks. Criteria for distinguishing preserved melt and solid inclusions and ways to reconstruct useful petrological information for palaeo-volcanic rocks are discussed.
