In the light of the latest trends towards digitalization of interpersonal interaction in general, cross-cultural dialogue takes on new dimensions. The change in the perception of physical distance creates multiple possibilities for a wide intercultural interaction and at the same time opens up new opportunities for the study of the psychological specifics of mastering, using and interpreting language. Comparative studies in the psychology of language reveal significant differences in the representations and ways of perceiving information arising from culture-specific environments in diverse settings across the world. Traditions and innovations in today’s cross-cultural dialogue are reflected in the current approaches to teaching new generations of students. Linguists from Brazil, Columbia, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Portugal and Russia will meet to discuss how the digital world has changed the way people approach and teach foreign languages and cultures.
