Prostate cancer cells demonstrate both inter- and intratumoral heterogeneity. The aggressive and indolent cancer cells show major differences in cell surface phenotype, migration potential and proliferation rate. Description of prostate cancer cell lines as in vitro models representative of clinical cancer samples with varying aggressiveness will provide great benefit for cancer research from clonal evolution studies to therapeutic agents’ evaluation. In our study we analyzed the parameters of aggressiveness for DU145 and LNCaP prostate cancer cell lines and non-malignant prostate epithelium RWPE-1 cells.
