A non-destructive method has been developed for the in vivo simultaneous determination of Sr-90 and Cs-137 in small living objects (mice, birds, amphibians, fish, etc.). It is based on electronic spectroscopy without radiochemical release. It opens up new possibilities for studying the accumulation of radiostrontium in living objects, measuring radiostrontium fallout at the first phase of radiation accidents in the field condition. The proposed method makes it possible to significantly reduce the cost of determining the Sr-90 content in environmental samples and living objects in comparison with traditional radiochemical studies.
