Modern software can significantly improve the quality of measurements of the intensity of the geomagnetic field vectors carried out at INTERMAGNET observatories by vector and scalar magnetometer systems. For INTERMAGNET observations, systematic errors in vector magnetometers occur, caused by slow instabilities due to their design features. Today, the systematic errors under consideration are filtered using additional discrete measurements made at observatories by a human operator. For this, precision adjustments of vector magnetometers are carried out periodically in time; the calculations of so-called baselines are performed using spline approximation functions, and the corresponding corrections are determined that eliminate systematic errors. To filter systematic errors, a special functional was introduced that depends on 1-second measurements of the projections and the modulus of the geomagnetic field intensity vector and parameters that simulate systematic errors. An algorithm was developed to minimize this functional, which allowed to calculate the estimates of systematic errors and implement the necessary filtering. The proposed solution of the problem of filtering systematic errors without the participation of a human operator is oriented to use in the development of software for INTERMAGNET observatories.
