The study is focused on the issue of lifelong education. The sources of its theoretical understanding can be found in the works of sociologists of the 60s and 70s of the last century which can be categorized into four discourses: "endism", information and post-industrial society, postmodern, globalization. The subject is also analyzed in terms of such sociological paradigms as functionalism and critical theory.
