The political and economic sanctions against some countries, companies and individuals are an important part of today’s reality for business. It touches not only the companies that belong to the sanctioned countries or sanctioned personalities, but also the other companies that might have any kind of business relations to them. These things change the business environment, and the complete picture of such changes is not yet visible. However, the bachelor and master students in business schools are more likely to know these issues from political point of view, and less likely – from business point of view. To bring the “sanctions and business” theme to the classroom and let students understand the threats and opportunities of “sanctions game” for businesses, we developed teaching case study based on real company case. The object of this teaching case study is Russian large agri-producer that needs to change the market strategy in view of Western sanctions and Russian food sanctions, Russian economic policies and other aspects related to that. The 10-page case is based on in-depth interview with the top-manager of this company, as well as on the publicly available European and Russian sources.
