Even in the era of modern integral-field spectrographs, the Fabry-Perot interferometer (FPI) provides a unique combination of a large field of view, high spectral resolution, and detailed image sampling that are important to study the ionized ISM in galaxies including the diffuse ionized gas (DIG). We present results of our recent studies of nearby star-forming galaxies taken with high- and low-resolution (tunablefilter) FPIs at the 6-m SAO RAS telescope and 2.5-m SAI MSU telescope. The relation between the ionized-gas velocity dispersion and forbidden to Balmer line ratio is used for diagnostics of shock fronts in the outflow matter. Also, the list of planetary nebula candidates in the NGC 3077 galaxy was compiled based on our tunable-filter observations.
