Nowadays FRET systems have been increasingly used in explaining the mechanisms occurring in biological objects. This is due to the fact that FRET in the dye molecules helps to avoid errors in the fluorescence spectra associated with the effects of self-quenching and backscattering. It is known, that some metal ions play various indispensable roles for growth of all living organisms. This paper proposes novel ratiometric cation FRET system containing two binding centers of different selectivity.
