The Middle East today witnesses the rise of de-facto polycentric regional order. Three regional actors, namely Turkey, Iran, and Saudi Arabia seek to ensure their leadership status in the Middle East through active involvement in the most vibrant regional conflicts (Egypt, Libya, Syria, Yemen). The proposed paper aims to explain the new type of security challenges, which emerge at the nexus of national and regional, state and non-state levels.
