Active superconductor antennas are considered as front-end elements of broadband cryogenic receivers with direct signal digitizing and following digital extraction of sub-bands. Implementation of the antennas enables extending of the high linearity and dynamic range of the superconductor Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADC) to a whole receiver system. Both designs and characteristics of the active antennas, including noise temperature, are discussed in detail for different types of the devised SQUID-like cells as blocks of Superconducting Quantum Arrays (SQA) and the SQA-based antennas. Initiation and control of the active devices are considered as well.
