We consider the use of pseudorandom number generators in quantum cryptography. We show that their use in quantum cryptography allows us to increase the key generation rate with very weak assumptions about the capabilities of the eavesdropper. A practical protocol scheme for quantum key distribution on coherent states, using pseudorandom sequences, is proposed. The cryptographic security of the proposed protocol against a beam splitting attack is considered.
