The synthesis of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) has attracted immense attention during the last 2 decades due to the possibility to obtain a large variety of aesthetically interesting structures that could also be of great interest for applications in a number of fields related to porous materials. This includes the more traditional areas of storage, separation, and catalysis, which are based on the pore size and shape as well as the host-guest interactions involved. In addition, biomedical applications or the use as sensor materials are currently intensively investigated. Synthesis of MOF-199 (Cu3(BTC)2) was carried out in three diverse methods. In the first instance a solvent system "DMF-ethanol-water" was used. In the second case the substance was disengaged from chloroform. In the third case a "chloroform-DMF-water" mixture was used. All processes were carried out at a temperature 90 C. The surfaces of the samples were studied by SEM technique
