Nanotubes are the typical nanostructures described in a lot of researches. However, the mechanism of growth of nanotubes is or not enough investigated, or is discussable. Some researchers assume that nanotubes and nanocells are the interconnected nanostructures at synthesis because in the basis of nanotubes are located the nanocells. Nanocells are the self-organized hexagonal nanostructures which are formed at electrochemical synthesis on a surface of some metals. Authors have obtained the evidence that (at electrochemical synthesis of TiO2-nanotubes in the ionic liquid (IL)) the Ti nanocells appears at first stage and then nanotubes grow from within at next stage. Working electrode is titanium plate used as anode. Electrolyte is IL [BMIM][NTf2]. The SEM, EDS, TEM, STEM, ED and XDR methods have been used for structure characterization. It has been shown that the TiO2-nanotubes are amorphous.
