The Ionic Liquids (ILs) improves dissociation ability of N2O4 to NO+ and NO3– thereby it can be used as a solvent in a reaction between metal and nitrogen oxide (IV) as well ILs can form different crystal product with ions of IL. In present work system Cu – N2O4 – IL ((BMIM)A, A = [BF4]– (IL1), (CF3SO2)2N – (IL2), CF3COO – (IL3)) was studied, crystal products NO[BF4] (I), NO[Cu(NO3)3] (II) and (BMIm)2[Cu2(CF3COO)6] (III) were obtained, in case of I and III crystal structures were determined by single crystal XRD data. I was obtained from the reaction of N2O4 with IL1, products II and III – from the reaction of Cu powder with N2O4 in ionic liquids IL2 and IL3 respectively, synthesis is provided in sealed ampoules at the 40C. Cristal structure I is presented in fig.1 (left) (space group Pnma, a = 8.856(2) Å, b = 5.631(1) Å, c = 6.841(2) Å). Cristal structure of new compound III contains new binuclear anions [Cu2(CF3COO)6] – with distorted paddle wheel structure (space group P2 1 /n, a = 16.466(3) Å, b = 15.871(3) Å, c = 17.043(3) Å, β = 117.32(3)) According to obtained data, ionic liquids is perspective for reactions of metal with liquid N2O4 as a solvent and as a reactant, as a result new compounds possible exhibiting catalytic and optical properties can be formed.
