Suspended sediment yield (SSY) from the Djankuat catchment, situated in the Central Caucasus (Russia), were monitored intensively during 2017 melt season (from June to September). The Djankuat stream is draining a small (9.1 km2) basin hosting glacierized areas of about 33.8%. Water discharge (Q, m3·s−1) and suspended sediment concentration (SSC, g·m−3) were measured few times per day in few points. Measured sediment fluxes at basin outlet correspond to total catchment denudation rate of 1000 t·km−2·year−1. Glacier generates ≈70% of all suspended sediments. The pro-glacial area is the main source of suspended sediments during precipitation events. More detailed review on suspended sediment yield generation in this catchment would be further observed in a presentation.
