On July-November 1996 in the area of Northern Greece the sequence of earthquakes Ms(5.7) was occurred. Surface ones (depths 0-10 km) caused damages in Konitsa city and adjacent villages and resulted in the occurrence of the ground fissures and rock falls. The surface and deep-seated faulting in the epicentral area was investigated on the basis of the geological maps analysis, as well as the geomorphological and gravimetric data. Using the specially constructed PC-program, the space and time distribution of the sequence earthquakes was analyzed and the successive activization of the faults lines has been noted. The existent geometry of probably activated faults and sense of fault kinematics are in agreement with the model of sinisterly pure share which is expected to generate the stress field with the azimuths of the T-axis N2830 (and P-axis N1930). This data suggest, that the geodynamic process, responsible for the earthquakes sequence, was directly associated with the action of the sinstral pure share, being characterized by the successive activization of the synthetic and antithetic faults.
