Radiolysis can be useful in the processing of plastic waste: the conversion of plastics into wax/oil, suitable for the subsequent production of fuel and/or organic chemicals (with a simultaneous decrease in the yield of gaseous products); reduction of temperature, pressure and consumption of catalysts for pyrolytic processes of recycling plastic waste; processing plastics-lignocellulose mixtures (RDF) without their separation with an increase in the yield of liquid organic products; reducing the molecular weight of wax obtained from plastic waste by the Fischer-Tropsch method; production of phenolic polymerization inhibitors in order to stabilize the products of pyrolytic conversion of plastic waste; obtaining furan raw materials for the subsequent production of biodegradable furan-containing plastics; oxidative degradation of plastics by converting them into low-melting easily-oxidizable compounds.
