Аннотация доклада:
The origin of spontaneous polarization in smectic liquid crystals composed of bent-shaped molecules has been described in the framework of molecular-statistical approach. The entered polar order parameter describes the angular ordering of molecule dipole moment and characterizes the value of spontaneous polarization. The synclinic and anticlinic ordering of mesogenic molecules are considered. It is shown that, in each case, the external electric field increases the value of polarization.
