Nowadays, the system of secondary and higher education in Russia goes through tough times. The transformation of educational programs is still underway at many schools and universities, including the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University. At the same time there have been multiple mainstream transformations in the media sphere: convergence, digitization, development of multimedia, mediatization, accompanied with the introduction of strict requirements regarding the deadlines and quality of journalistic materials. As a result, the expectations required from media professionals have been significantly upgraded. In order to meet requirements of the media industry, the Faculty of Journalism of MSU has to diversify its educational programs and change its approach to teaching students.
