Plasma protein fibrinogen has been considered as a main proaggregant agent of erythrocytes in human blood while mechanisms of this process remain unclear. Adsorption of fibrinogen macromolecules on erythrocytes membrane may serve as a regulating factor of erythrocytes aggregation. Critical shear-stress (CSS) as a parameter of cells interaction strength in of fibrinogen-induced erythrocyte aggregation was measured at the presence of the membrane integrin glycoprotein IIb/IIIa inhibitor eptifibatide. We observed a 15-30% decrease of CSS depending on the concentration of the eptifibatide in the incubation solution.
