Аннотация доклада:
Farmland abandonment (FLA) is the complete withdrawal of agricultural management such that natural succession processes are able to progress [Terres et al. 2013]. Depending on the environmental conditions this abandoned farmlands will gradually be covered by scrubs and trees that could be positive for biodiversity in the region. However, the important finding of research of FLA is that some lands, especially in countries with transition economy have been abounded despite of their suitability for agricultural production [Alcantara et al., 2013]. Because of growth of global demand for food (or energy) there could be requirement to bring back some lands to crop production.
