Sweet potato (Ipomea Batatas L.) is a valuable food crop. This culture occupies hundreds of thousands of hectares in in different countries. The sweet potato tubers are used to make baby food and also included in the diet of diabetics. Also there are many of useful substances. In addition, sweet potato contains inulin, which helps to reduce sugar in the blood and increases the absorption of calcium by bone tissue. Positive results of cultivation of this culture have already been obtained in the Voronezh region, the republics of Bashkiria, Tatarstan and Udmurtia. Especially. But, there is an expensive sweet potato in the network shops of Russia. It is imported from Israel, Malaysia and Thailand. This subject is relevant for studying, because the soil and climatic conditions of our country allow the cultivation of sweet potato. Basing on the world experience, we can adapt the cultivation technologies of sweet potato to domestic soil and climatic conditions. At the present time this culture does not spread widely in our country . The aim of our study was to investigate the possibility of growing of sweet potato in the Moscow and Tula regions and to estimate the effect of various complex fertilizers on the yield and quality of sweet potato. To achieve this goal, we conducted reconnaissance experiment with sweet potatoes of Tainung and Boregaard varieties in 2015. The yield of the Boregard variety was extremely low, so, basing on the data, the Taynung variety was selected for further testing. The field experiment with sweet potato of Tainung variety was laid in the Tula region in summer 2016. The complex fertilizers such as "Bone-forte", "Fertika", and nitrophosphate were used conducting this experiment. The choice of these fertilizers was based on the next observation: fertilizers Bone-forte; Fertika; contain trace elements which are sparse in the site image soils. The fertilizer doses were aligned with nitrogen: 60, 120, 180 kg*ha-1. In September 2016, sweet potato tubers were excavated, soil and plant samples were taken. In conclusion we can state that the soil and climatic conditions of the Moscow and Tula region allow to grow sweet potatoes and obtain high yields only with applying of mineral fertilizers. "Bone-forte" was the best convenience in low soil fertility conditions. Fertilizers Fertika and nitrophosphate, according to their effectiveness, occupied respectively the second and third place.
