  8th International Symposium of Traditional Culture and Ecological Civilization International Symposium of Traditional Culture and Ecological Civilization is an international academic conference initiated and hosted by Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences in 2010, with approval of China Association of Science and Technology and under guidance of Ministry of Environmental Protection of the People’s Republic of China. It has been successfully held in Beijing, Xi’an, Shandong, Heilongjiang, Zhengzhou, etc., with nearly a hundred of foreign guests from countries and districts such as America, the UK, Russia, South Korea, Singapore, France, Thailand, Mongolia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, etc., and nearly 5000 people attending the conferences. In each conference, ecological civilization and traditional culture is selected as the topic, among which, the systematic subjects in Chinese traditional culture are chosen to carry out deep discussion. There are a thousand of papers having been published in the conferences, generating humorousinfluence to the society and ecological civilization research. The establishment of ecological civilization has not onlybecome the important guiding ideology for social and economic development in China, but also the important theoretical contribution of China to the global sustainable development. Innate view of ecological harmony in Chinese traditional culture provides solid philosophical foundation and idea inspiration to realize ecological civilization. Series of new political ideas such as Scientific Outlook on Development, construction of harmonious socialist society and environment-friendly society, etc., shall be sufficientlycarried out mutual learning with ecological socialism, world sustainable development theory, andChinese traditional culture. Their combination will promote ecological civilization of socialism with Chinese characteristics, facilitate great rejuvenation of Chinese nation and new trend of global sustainable development. International Seminar of Traditional Culture and Ecological Civilization will continuouslycarry out bold innovation, realize impressive cultural propaganda of ecological civilizationin multiple modes and creativity, devote to improving the consciousness of ecological civilization of the whole nation, and make positive contribution to building a moderately prosperous society in all respects. Therefore, with the approval of China Association of Science and Technology an guidance of Ministry of Environmental Protection of the People’s Republic of China, the Organizing Committee plans to hold “the 8thInternational Seminar of Traditional Culture and Ecological Civilization” in Beijing on Dec.2-5, 2017, through which, by concerning the national strategy of “The Belt and Road”, information communication of traditional ideologies and culture with countries along “The Belt and Road” is carried out to organically combine the eastern and western traditionalculture and philosophy with modern science and technology, draw ecological wisdom from traditional cultures, together search for environmental and ecological risks to be solved, realize sustainable development, establish a brand new ecological civilization of harmonious development between human being and nature, and welcome the successful holding of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China with action. (II) Parallel Session Report: Exchange activities, including parallel sessions andsalons will be held as part of the Conference.
