  Since its inception in 1969, the quadrennial National Congress of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, NCTAM, has become a major scientific event, gathering Bulgarian and foreign scientists and engineers from academia and industry. The congress is organized by the National Committee of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics and the Institute of Mechanics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and will be held between 6th and 10th September 2017 in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. The congress venue will be at the Institute of Mechanics – Campus I of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The 13th NCTAM aims to provide opportunities for researchers to present their latest results, to discuss new ideas and to establish a basis for future collaboration. The topics of the congress include General Mechanics, Solid Mechanics, Fluid Mechanics, Robotics, Mechatronics, Biomechanics and other related fields. In addition, we will have several mini-symposia on selected special topics.
