  Сhanges to the cold climate regions of the world creates challenges related to the state of ice in both fresh and sea water. These challenges relate to fundamental ice processes, engineering aspects of ice and environmental issues in all areas were ice forms. The IAHR ice symposium is focused on presenting and discussing topics related to ice in both fresh and sea water and should provide a venue for addressing current topics in ice engineering and research.
