  http://www.uef.fi/fi/pals The 6th Finnish-Russian Photonics and Laser Symposium PALS'13 is to continue and extend success of the previous symposia held in Saratov (2003), Kajaani (2005), Moscow (2007), Tampere (2009) and St. Petersburg (2011). The Symposium has become an important event attracting leading researchers in the field of the photonics and laser physics from Finland and Russia. The invited lectures, oral and poster presentations that will be distributed in six major modules: Fundamental aspects of the light-matter interaction Nano- and microoptics Biophotonics Plasmonics Nonlinear optical spectrocopy Advanced sensing The Symposium is aimed at PhD students, post-doctoral and young researchers from Finland and Russia in the first instance. They will be able to establish direct contact with leading scientists and their colleagues working in the field of photonics and laser physics. PALS'13 is organized by University of Eastern Finland and the International Laser Center of Lomonosov Moscow State University. The symposium will be held at the spa hotel Rauhalahti (www.rauhalahti.fi), Kuopio, 3 – 5 October, 2013.
