Аннотация:Nanocomposite films based on silicon nanocrystals in a polymer matrix were prepared and their optical and photovoltaic properties were investigated. Silicon nanocrystals were formed by mechanical grinding of porous silicon layers prepared by standard electrochemical etching of crystalline silicon wafers. Polymethylacrylate was used as a basis of the polymer matrix for silicon nanocrystals. The prepared nanocomposite coating under UV excitation was characterized by stable and efficient photoluminescence in the spectral range of 550–950 nm. The current–voltage characteristics of the nanocomposite-coated silicon solar cells were measured and an increase on the photocurrent was observed under UV excitation. The obtained results demonstrate that the nanocomposite films can be used for the down-conversion of the photon energy of UV light in order to improve the spectral response of silicon solar cells.
