Аннотация:A search for the ternary phases containing bismuth cluster polycations was carried out for the Bi-W-Cl system. For this purpose, samples with compositions corresponding to points in the Bi-WCl(6), Bi-WCl(5), and Bi-WCl(4) sections were prepared and annealed at 300 degrees C. X-ray powder diffraction analysis did not reveal any ternary phases; for all samples, binary chloride Bi(6)Cl(7) was found to be the only bismuth cluster compound. Based on the data obtained, the reasons for the absence of ternary phases are discussed in terms of the stability of the phases containing bismuth polycations.
