The course covers one of the key areas of modern physics — theory of the radiation by accelerated charges. Its principles constitute the basis for the operation of all modern accelerators and radiation sources, such as synchrotrons, undulators and free electron lasers. The course includes the fundamentals of the theory of radiation from fast charges in magnetic fields and focuses on the synchrotron radiation (SR) theory, the undulator radiation (UR) theory and its application to free electron lasers (FEL) with the basics of FEL operation theory.
