Amphiphilic molecules have a fascinating ability to self-assemble in aqueous solutions forming micelles of various shapes. Ionic surfactants in the presence of salts or co-surfactants can form wormlike (or cylindrical) micelles, which can form an entangled network above the overlap concentration. Solutions of long entangled wormlike micelles can possess fascinating viscoelastic properties, and find successful applications in many industrial and technological fields, including oil and gas production or viscosity modification in consumer products. In the present work we investigate the phase behavior and viscoelastic properties of mixed micelles composed of anionic surfactant and different short-chain cationicco-surfactants.
