Terahertz waves generated by optical rectification of femtosecond laser pulses in wide-aperture lithium niobate crystals with in-growth domain structures and in crystals with domain structures, induced in the post-growth period by electrical poling technique, are compared. It is shown that, due to domain structure inhomogeneity there is an additional spectral broadening of the terahertz radiation generated in the in-grown samples. Meanwhile the generation efficiencies of both of these samples are of the same order.
