A method, well known in nuclear physics as the resonating group method, is applied in atomic physics for the case of the long-range Coulomb potential. Applying an additional integration of the Green’s function in the integral Lippmann-Schwinger (LS) equation, we are able to consider both outgoing electrons on equal footing, as the Coulomb waves. The obtained results are in satisfactory agreement with the experimental data.
