Computer simulations have become an invaluable tool for studying problems in statistical mechanics in the past several decades. This discussion meeting focuses on recent advances in the general field of computational statistical physics, highlighting in particular the fruitful interplay between simulation and theory which has helped to make computational methods so successful. The workshop is dedicated to honor Kurt Binder, who will become emeritus at the JGU Mainz in 2012. The topics discussed on the meeting include: Simulation methods Glasses, spin glasses and disordered systems Polymers Critical phenomena and finite size scaling Nucleation and spinodal decomposition Surfaces, wetting, confinement
